Description

Leaves can be eaten both raw and cooked and have a mild and pleasant taste. They are pleasantly sweet and contain little fiber, making them an excellent substitute for lettuce in salads that can be consumed in large quantities. Even when the plant is in bloom, the older leaves remain appealing. The root can also be eaten raw or cooked.
