Description

Young leaves of this plant can be eaten both raw and cooked. They have a high nutritional value and a pleasant taste, with tender leaves that have a slight bitterness. To enhance the tenderness, some people briefly blanch the leaves in boiling water before using them in salads. These leaves are often used as an ingredient in 'misticanze,' a salad mix of wild and cultivated leaves that originates from the Marche region in Italy.
