Description
The fruits of this plant can be eaten raw, or cooked and dried for later use. They have a sweet and pleasant flavor and contain up to 5 times more vitamin C than blackcurrants. The fruits are oval in shape, hairless, and ripen to a pale orange color with a maximum diameter of 25 mm. They contain a number of small seeds, which can be easily eaten with the fruit. Young leaves of this plant can be cooked and added to side dishes or soups. According to a report, 100 grams of this fruit contains up to 1520 mg of vitamin C.
