Description

Fruits: edible both raw and cooked. The berries can be dried and serve as currants. They have a spicy yet pleasant flavor. Before frost, they are sharp in taste; after the frost period, they become sweeter. The fruits are mostly used in making jam, pies, and so on. Due to the saponin content, they are consumed in moderation. The fruit is 9 mm long and contains one seed.
