According to some sources, the white fruits ripen more slowly and have a milder taste than the orange varieties. The fruit can also be used to make jam, pies, ice cream, and other sweet treats. The fruits fall from the tree in the autumn and are stored until they are fully ripe. For some people, the fruit can cause gastrointestinal issues.
